A beach resort for the family to enjoy
Thursday, September 24, 2009My family loves going to beach resorts. We have spent so many summer in various beaches ever since the kids were small. There was even a time when my son was just contented playing on the sand, but he didn't want to remove his slippers because he said the sand feels yucky on his toes, and he didn't want to go swimming either because he imagined sharks swimming toward him. It was good memories, and we share a lot of those.
That's why when I saw one resort in Myrtle Beach, we really got excited because it really looks great for the whole family to enjoy. I'm sure my kids would love the Myrtle Beach Resort because they would have lots of activities to enjoy, and for me and my husband, we would love an oceanfront hotel Myrtle Beach because it looks so serene and relaxing.
We will surely add this to our list of favorite places to visit in the future, and I think we really have to start saving for it so that we can enjoy the place sooner.
Protect your computer from virus attack
We only have one computer at home and there are five members in my family, so, you can just imagine how difficult it is to schedule its usage. And with it comes the difficulty in monitoring the files being used by my kids, especially. Although I've found a way of somehow getting around it by assigning each one of us a password with only myself as the administrator, there still comes a time when our computer gets infected with virus. It's really frustrating whenever I have lots of things to do online and then I notice that it's very slow because of trojan virus infection.
Virus protection is really a must in every household, and we really have to make sure that we have updated software for this. Aside from this, I constantly remind my kids that they have to be careful in visiting various websites.

Online Tutorial for your Kids
But then, this got me thinking, I could help my kids even more if I get them really good tutors, but of course, this could mean extra expenses for the family. But if I weigh the benefits of having tutors, I think it would be all worth it. Next thing that we considered was deciding on whether to find tutors in school or try online tutoring, after all, math help, specifically Algebra help is really hard to come by, and I was worried that my kids wouldn't get much help if I will just hire tutors from school. So I searched and found Tutorvista, which is a leading online tutoring company in the world. Their rate is very reasonable because it's unlimited tutorial for Math, English, and Science, and I'm sure I wouldn't get this same deal if I hire a tutor from my kids' school. So, right now, listed in the agenda for our next family meeting would be the signing up for this online tutorial for the kids.
No cable? No problem
Wednesday, July 15, 2009So, nowadays, people have been choosing Direct TV and Satellite Directv over having cable services at home. For me, this is much better. Services are provided to the subscribers through satellite transmission, that's why, Direct Satellite TV is becoming increasingly popular. And just like in cable, there are also hundreds of channels available for you to choose from. In my neighborhood alone, a lot of people have already unsubscribed to cable and have since transferred to Direct Satellite TV, and they have no regrets.
Tips for Early Christmas Shopping Rush
Tuesday, July 14, 2009Pay in cash. Because you spend only what you have on hand, logically, you can't overspend. If you're wary about carrying cash around, some ATM accounts can now be used as debit cards. Of course, using cash is not a complete guarantee that you'll cut down on spending. As far as buying is concerned: Be a planned spender. Canvass for prices and suppliers before making a purchase. If you scout for the best deals, you're sure to get better value for your money.
Buy in bulk. When you buy in bulk, or more of the same items, chances are, prices will come out cheaper per piece, or you get a bigger discount on your purchase. Scout for factories or manufacturers who can produce items in large quantities.
Give group gifts. When summed, individual gifts can cost a lot. For your kids' teachers in school, you can give a box of pastries, or other sweets.
Look out for sales and special promos. Sales and promotional offers are temporary, so shoppers should take advantage of them. Make sure, though, that what the store offers are not old stocks or the last remaining pieces.
Give gift certificates. If you only have a small budget for your godchildren, but can't find a suitable toy worth that amount, don't sweat it. Most department stores sell gift cads or gift certificates.
Do online shopping. You can just click away at stuff you like, so it's very convenient. But, it can either tempt you to splurge or make you stick to your budget. Be disciplined in making purchases. When doing your shopping online, do it early. And also, don't trust easily. Watch out for scammers.
Take advantage of points. Some credit cards allow its cardholders to earn points. They don't expire, so you can take your time deciding which among the items featured in the catalog you want to exchange them for.

Online Shopping Made Easy
Wednesday, July 8, 2009Since we only have one bathroom at home, and with a family of five, I was specifically looking for a way to organize it so that it doesn't look like a tornado hit it every morning. I was lucky to have found bathroom and organization storage which is just what I need. Now I wouldn't have to worry about messing up the bathroom again, I just need to orient my kids on where to put certain items.
I also need to revamp my kitchen, but since it will eat a lot from my household budget, re-organizing it would be the best option. Pantry and cabinet organization are tops on my list of to-dos. I know little things would mean a lot in making my kitchen organized so I wouldn't mind getting some door and wall organizers to make room for some working area, and I'm sure that would be a good start.
Step by step guide to cleaning electric fans
Thursday, June 25, 2009
Below are easy-to-follow steps in cleaning your electric fans:
(1) Unplug the fan from the power socket.
(2) Remove the screws or brackets of the fan grill. Take off the grill and wash in warm, soapy water. Set aside to dry.
(3) Wash the cage and blades with warm water and a soft brush, if needed.
(4) Do not ever immerse the motor in water. Let the fan parts dry before
putting it back together.
If the grill/blade is made of stainless steel:
(1) Wipe with a dry cloth or clean with your hair dryer or vacuum cleaner.
(2) If using a hair dryer or a vacuum cleaner, blow "backwards" (the opposite direction that the air normally blows) through the grill/blade and thoroughly remove the dust, lint, and debris that may have accumulated on it.
(3) Wipe it using a cloth with a drop of oil, to prevent from rusting
